Workforce Recruiter seeks a Production Supervisor for the Grand Rapids, MI area to lead the second-shift paint operations. You will supervise one Team Leader and about 25 production employees across loading, unloading, line support, inventory control, material handling, and quality auditing in a unionized automotive facility.

Responsibilities include coordinating labor, monitoring performance, driving Lean/5S, coaching staff, and ensuring smooth handovers.

Qualifikationen

• Supervisory or team leadership experience in high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience in a unionized environment and with labor rules.
• Automotive manufacturing experience preferred (painted plastics).
• Knowledge of production metrics, quality controls, and continuous improvement.

Aufgaben

• Provide hands-on second-shift leadership for paint operations and safety.
• Coach one Team Leader and ~25 employees across multiple functions.
• Assign labor/resources to meet daily production needs and maintain continuity.
• Monitor line performance, scrap, downtime, and material usage; take corrective actions.
• Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with procedures and PPE standards.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Production to resolve defects.
• Troubleshoot automated paint line, robotics, conveyors, and sensors; escalate as needed.
• Ensure proper staging and tracking of paint, components, and materials.
• Lead shift start-up meetings and communicate priorities; handover to next shift.
• Train staff, enforce standardized work, and manage performance in a union setting.
