Job summary

SEFL is seeking a PT Outbound Freight Handler in Texas to load and unload freight, prepare trailers, and ensure safe handling with proper equipment. You will weigh and measure shipments, review freight bills, and verify hazardous material details where applicable.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and the ability to pass background and drug tests; forklift experience or certification is preferred. Second shift, hourly pay between $18.70 and $22.20.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to pass background check and drug/alcohol test.
• Experience as forklift operator, dock/warehouse worker, or material handler preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight from equipment and assist in recouping damaged freight.
• Prepare, sweep, inspect and clean trailers before loading freight; use safe lifting techniques.
• Operate and select appropriate freight handling equipment (forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks).
• Weigh and dimension shipments, plan cube utilization and weight distribution; document shortages or damage.
• Review freight bills and manifests; verify hazardous material descriptions and placarding when needed.
• Block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport.
