Job summary

Southeastern Freight Lines is seeking a full-time Inbound Freight Handler in Dallas, TX. You will load and unload freight, prepare trailers, and use various handling equipment. The role requires safe lifting techniques and attention to shipment weights, dimensions, and hazardous materials where applicable.

The position operates on the Third Shift. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, pass background and drug tests, and ideally have forklift experience and certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to pass background check and alcohol/drug test.
• Experience as Forklift Operator, Dock or Warehouse Worker, or Material Handler preferred.
• Forklift Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight onto and off equipment.
• Prepare, sweep, inspect and clean trailers before loading freight.
• Use safe lifting techniques and proper freight handling equipment.
• Weigh and dimension shipments for classification and safe handling.
• Plan cube utilization and weight distribution when loading freight.
• Inspect freight and document shortages or damage; review freight bills and manifests.
• Verify hazardous material descriptions and proper placarding when loading.
• Block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport.
