Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Background check and drug test must be satisfactorily passed.
• Prior experience as Forklift Operator, Dock or Warehouse Worker, or Material Handler preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment while following safety procedures.
• Prepare, sweep, inspect and clean trailers before loading freight.
• Weigh and dimension shipments for proper classification and handling.
• Plan cube utilization and weight distribution when loading freight.
• Count and inspect freight; document shortages or damage.
• Review freight bills and manifests for instructions and accuracy.
• Block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport.
