Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. is seeking a Foreman for the 2nd shift at Newport News Shipbuilding. You will supervise semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel, coordinate activities, and ensure quality and safety across all phases of fabrication and assembly.

The role requires a relevant degree or equivalent experience, with additional training and leadership responsibilities. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered to qualified new hires.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree or applicable apprenticeship/experience.
• Alternative paths include high school with 4 years of manufacturing/shipbuilding/military experience.
• An Associate Degree in a Trade with 3 years of related manufacturing/military experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel.
• Trains employees and ensures compliance with drawings and procedures.
• Oversees manufacturing, installation, operation, testing and processes with significant financial impact on the company.

Bachelor's Degree

Apprentice Certification

High School and 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience

Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience
