Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, seeks a Foreman for the 2nd shift. You will supervise and train trades staff, ensure conformance to drawings and procedures, and oversee manufacturing, installation and testing processes with financial impact. A sign-on bonus of $5,000 is available for qualifying hires.

Must have a relevant degree or apprenticeship or equivalent mix of schooling and factory/military experience. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in manufacturing, shipbuilding or related field.
• Apprentice Certification or equivalent trades qualifications.
• High School plus four years of manufacturing/trades/military experience.
• Associate Degree in a trade/technical field with three years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel by skill and experience.
• Trains employees, helps develop procedures, and ensures compliance with drawings and procedures.
• Oversees manufacturing, installation, testing and process operations with significant financial impact.
• Monitors course and budget performance for all shifts and oversees qualified trades staff.
