Job summary

Republic Services in the United States is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead a shop team responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of diesel and alternative fuel trucks, containers, and heavy equipment. This role ensures work is done safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

You will plan repair schedules, supervise technicians, perform quality checks, and manage shop inventory and expenses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ASE certifications listed in responsibilities and qualifications.
• Minimum 3 years in heavy equipment maintenance.
• At least 1 year supervisory experience in a lead technician role.
• Familiar with DOT, OSHA and federal/state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a technician team to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on trucks and heavy equipment.
• Plan and schedule repairs to maintain safety and timely completion.
• Oversee shop operations, daily huddles, and performance coaching.
• Monitor safety compliance and conduct quality control inspections.
• Manage shop inventory and budget within approval levels.
• Road-test vehicles for complex diagnostics when needed.
