Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead a maintenance shop responsible for preventive maintenance and repairs on trucks, containers, and other heavy equipment. You will direct technicians, ensure safety standards, and optimize repair workflows both on-site and in the field.

The role requires supervisory experience, ASE certifications, and strong knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in maintenance with heavy equipment.
• 1 year of supervisory experience in a lead technician role.
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and other federal/state regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership and coaching abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to technicians and lead engineers to ensure safe, efficient repairs.
• Monitor performance and redirect activities for better efficiency.
• Report to management and suggest process improvements.
• Supervise shop personnel, conduct coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
• Inspect outside repairs for safety and compliance; follow up as needed.
• Identify training needs and address corrective actions with staff.
• Conduct quality control inspections and track issue resolutions.
• Oversee diagnostic work and road tests for complex repairs.
• Manage shop inventory and budget within approved limits.
