Job summary

HMSHost in Chicago, IL seeks a Cook to prepare cooked foods across stations, follow recipes, and communicate any issues to the manager. You will contribute to high-quality service in a fast-paced environment, with safety and cleanliness as priorities.

This is a non-exempt, full-time role reporting to the Store Manager or General Manager as required. Responsibilities include cooking soups, roasts, pantries, and eggs, maintaining HACCP standards, stocking and rotating inventory, and ensuring

Qualifications

• Requires food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards.
• Minimum of 1 year of related cooking experience, high-volume environment preferred.
• Experience with soups, sauté, broiler, fry, and pantry helpful.
• Ability to read and understand instructions, policies, and communicate with customers.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, and work in a hot environment.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares a range of food items to spec.
• Tastes and plans production, estimates requirements and requisitions supplies.
• Cleans and sanitizes work stations and equipment, observes sanitation practices.
• Operates kitchen equipment and measures ingredients for prep and plating.
• Maintains proper temperature, stock rotation and timely service.
