Job summary

Smithey Ironware is seeking a Customer Support Contractor for a seasonal, remote role from October through January. You’ll respond to inquiries by phone, email, and SMS, resolve product questions, order concerns, returns and exchanges, and craft clear, warm, personal replies.

This is a 1099 engagement; you provide your own equipment, set hours within agreed windows, invoice for hours, and may take on other clients.

Qualifications

• Seasonal, October through January availability.
• Experience in direct-to-consumer or ecommerce customer service.
• Proficient with help desk or ticketing systems (Zendesk, Gorgias, Re:amaze or similar).
• Familiarity with Shopify and comfortable handling multiple tools at once.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries by phone, email, and SMS.
• Resolve product questions, order concerns, returns, tracking requests, and exchanges.
• Produce written replies that are clear, warm, and personal, not templated.
