Job summary

Smithey Ironware is seeking a remote seasonal customer support contractor for October through January to handle inquiries and orders with a personal, human touch. You will respond via phone, email, and SMS, and resolve questions while maintaining warm, clear communication.

This 1099 engagement lets you set your own hours within agreed coverage windows and work independently using Shopify and help desk tools like Zendesk, Gorgias, or Re:amaze. Compensation is hourly at 18–20 USD.

Qualifications

• Experience in direct-to-consumer or ecommerce customer service.
• Hands-on experience with help desk software and multiple tools.
• Familiarity with Shopify and written communication.
• Comfortable on the phone and able to work remotely with minimal oversight.
• Available for October through January term.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries by phone, email, and SMS.
• Resolve product questions, order concerns, returns, tracking, and exchanges.
• Produce personalized, thoughtful written replies without templating.
• Maintain records in Shopify, help desk, returns, and phone platforms.
