Job summary

St. David’s North Austin Medical Center is seeking a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) to assess patients, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate outcomes. Work with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, accurate care delivery in a high-acuity pediatric setting.

The role requires 2 years of RN experience, ADN with BSN within 5 years, Texas RN license or compact license, BLS and PALS. CC RN and CPN are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years of clinical nursing experience as an RN.
• Experience in an acute care setting – preferred.
• ADN required; BSN within 5 years if ADN.
• Current State of Texas RN license or Compact license; TX license within 90 days of hire.
• BLS required; PALS certification required; CCRN/CPN preferred.
• Seasonal assignment ends March 31, 2027; minimum 72 hours per pay period.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document patient assessments at admission.
• Create and revise plans of care with discharge planning.
• Document outcomes of nursing interventions and patient responses.
• Ensure physician orders are transcribed correctly.
• Provide educational materials to patients and families.
• Keep physicians and supervisors informed of significant information.
