Job summary

St. David's HealthCare is seeking a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) for the Austin area. You will assess newborns, develop and implement care plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, evidence-based care.

The role requires an RN license in Texas (or compact) with BLS and NRP certification; S.T.A.B.L.E. certification is preferred. You will support families, educate on homecare and breastfeeding, and participate in transfer coordination as

Qualifications

• 1 year of clinical nursing experience in as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting – preferred
• Active Texas RN license or Compact license with 90 days to obtain full licensure

Responsibilities

• Complete admission assessments of newborns
• Create a plan of care including discharge plans and revise as needed
• Conduct ongoing assessments of infants and communicate changes
• Administer medications and complete treatments per hospital policy
• Assist transport teams in stabilization of infants and support transfer documentation
• Provide education materials to families on homecare, treatments, adoption and support groups
• Assist mothers in breastfeeding with Lactation Department
• Delegate work to non-licensed staff per standards of practice
