Job summary

St. David’s North Austin Medical Center in Texas is seeking a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN). You will assess patients at admission, develop and evaluate care plans, and document outcomes as part of an interdisciplinary team.

You will educate families and ensure accurate transcription of physician orders while administering medications per hospital policy. The role requires 2 years of RN experience, ADN with BSN within 5 years, TX RN license or Compact license, and

Qualifications

• 2 years of clinical nursing experience as an RN.
• Acute care experience preferred.
• Texas RN or Compact license required (within 90 days if compact).
• BLS and PALS certifications required; CCRN/CPN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document patient assessments on admission.
• Develop and evaluate a plan of care with discharge planning.
• Document nursing interventions and patient responses.
• Transcribe and verify physician orders.
• Provide patient/family education on care and treatments.
• Keep care team informed of significant patient information.
• Administer medications and treatments per policy.
• Delegate tasks to non-licensed staff per standards.
