Jackson Hewitt - 1689 is seeking a Seasonal Assistant District Manager to lead multi-store operations within the district, coordinating with the District Manager to boost efficiency, revenue, and profitability across six stores or more during peak season.

The role includes recruiting and interviewing seasonal staff, driving the tax education process, and partnering with HR on training and employee relations. Strong leadership and tax knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent related business experience.
• Course of study in management or in tax preparation and/or accounting preferred but not required.
• 2 years previous management or supervisory experience required with a passion for leading and inspiring others.
• Entrepreneurial spirit that inspires out of the box thinking to impact business results.
• Tax knowledge preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and client service skills.
• Must possess reliable transportation, insurance, and a driver’s license in good standing.
• Proficiency with a variety of computer software applications such as electronic mail, internet browser, online time-tracking, Word, and Excel preferred.
• Knowledge in accounting or tax preparation software is preferred.
• Ability to sustain energy and remain available to subordinates during season including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced working environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage multi-unit district operations to maximize efficiency, revenue, and profitability.
• Lead recruitment and interview seasonal staff; oversee tax education flow.
• Monitor performance, enforce quality, coordinate with HR on training and issues.
• Ensure locations meet standards: setup, tech, supplies; work with property managers.
• Grow business by retaining clients and attracting new ones; build brand awareness.
• Resolve client questions and complaints; ensure policy compliance.
• Guide staff in handling complex problems and escalated disputes.
• Monitor P&L, discount reports, and achieve district goals.
