Job summary

Sur La Table is seeking a Seasonal Kitchen Assistant in Boca Raton to support chefs, engage guests, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen during classes and in-store experiences.

You'll help with mise en place, assist with class execution, and strive to deliver outstanding customer service while upholding food safety standards. This role offers flexible hours (12–16 per week) including nights and weekends, with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• 1 year retail sales experience, preferred.
• 1 year food prep and/or kitchen operations experience, preferred.
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
• Maintain product knowledge by staying current on offerings and training resources.
• Lead a customer-focused, Guest Obsessed culture in both kitchen and retail areas.
• Assist chefs with class execution to drive enrollment and positive feedback.
• Help meet class revenue goals through high enrollment, reviews and guest return rates.
• Set up and breakdown classes, prep mise en place, and clean workstations.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation compliance.
• Maintain inventory and control expenses.
• Adhere to store safety and wage/hour policies.
