Job summary

Sur La Table is hiring a Seasonal Kitchen Assistant to support chefs, engage guests, and maintain a clean kitchen environment. You’ll help run classes, ensure guest satisfaction, and contribute to store success with a customer-focused approach.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and compliance, with flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays. Prior retail and food prep experience is preferred; all team members support a best-in-center experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• 1 year retail sales experience preferred.
• 1 year food prep/kitchen operations experience preferred.
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand by creating memorable customer experiences.
• Assist chefs with class execution and drive positive guest feedback.
• Meet or exceed monthly sales goals and support store revenue.
• Set up and breakdown classes, prep ingredients, and clean workstations.
• Maintain food safety standards and inventory controls.
• Adhere to wage and hour laws and store SOPs.
