Job summary

Sur La Table is seeking a Seasonal Kitchen Assistant to support chefs, engage guests, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen during classes and events. The role emphasizes hospitality, teamwork, and a passion for cooking while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

You will help with class execution, drive enrollment and sales, and ensure compliance with safety standards in a fast-paced retail kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older at time of employment.
• 1 year retail sales experience preferred.
• 1 year food prep and/or kitchen operations experience preferred.
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table brand by delivering memorable, educational experiences to inspire repeat visits.
• Assist chefs with class execution to drive enrollment and positive guest feedback.
• Meet or exceed monthly sales goals and contribute to store revenue via KPIs.
• Set up and breakdown classes, organize mise en place, prep ingredients, and clean workstations.
• Maintain inventory, restock, and organize kitchen supplies to support store readiness.
• Ensure food safety, sanitation, and compliance with relevant regulations.
