Job summary

Sur La Table is seeking a Seasonal Kitchen Assistant to support chefs during classes and events, delivering hands-on cooking experiences for guests while upholding clean, organized kitchen spaces and a welcoming, guest-focused environment.

You will assist with mise en place, class prep, and product knowledge, contribute to achieving class enrollment goals and guest satisfaction, and help maintain food safety and store operations in a fast-paced retail kitchen setting.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• 1 year retail sales experience, preferred.
• 1 year food prep and/or kitchen operations experience, preferred.
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent brand and create memorable customer experiences.
• Stay current on products and participate in available training.
• Lead a customer-focused, Guest Obsessed culture in the kitchen and retail sales floor.
• Assist chefs with class execution to drive repeat visits.
• Meet or exceed monthly sales goals and KPIs.
• Set up and breakdown of classes, including mise en place and cleaning workstations.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dishes and equipment.
• Assist with restocking and organizing kitchen supplies.
