Job summary

Sur La Table is seeking a Seasonal Kitchen Assistant to support chefs, engage guests, and maintain a clean kitchen environment. You will help run classes, assist with mise en place, and ensure a smooth culinary experience for customers.

Ideal candidates have 1 year in retail or kitchen ops, a valid Food Handlers Certification, and strong teamwork. This role is seasonal and requires flexibility, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• 1 year retail sales experience preferred.
• 1 year food prep and/or kitchen operations experience preferred.
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand by creating engaging, educational experiences that inspire loyalty.
• Assist chefs with class execution to drive positive feedback and repeat visits.
• Deliver class revenue goals by achieving high enrollment, good reviews, and guest return rates.
• Maintain clean, organized kitchen areas and prep stations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and store SOPs.
