Job summary

Sur La Table is seeking a Seasonal Kitchen Assistant to support chefs, engage guests, and maintain a clean kitchen environment. The role emphasizes hospitality, teamwork, and delivering exceptional customer experiences in a fast-paced class setting.

You will help with mise en place, ingredient prep, and class operations while maintaining product knowledge and a guest-obsessed approach. Flexible, part-time hours are available across evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older at the time of employment.
• 1 year retail sales experience, preferred
• 1 year food prep and/or kitchen operations experience, preferred
• Valid Food Handlers Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
• Assist chefs with class execution that drives repeat visits and positive customer feedback.
• Deliver class revenue goals by ensuring high enrollment, positive reviews, and guest return rates.
• Assist in setting up and breakdown of classes including organizing mise en place and cleaning workstations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment.
