Job summary

The Salvation Army in the United States is seeking a Christmas Kettle Assistant to support bell ringing, data entry, and logistical tasks for our holiday campaign. This seasonal role runs through December 24th and involves working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

The position requires good character, strong customer service, and basic computer skills. Local travel is required; pay ranges from $15.75–$18.90 per hour and includes a temporary status of up to 90 days.

Qualifications

• Must be of good moral character and able to interact in a friendly and compassionate manner.
• Candidates must successfully pass the pre-employment background inquiry and annual motor vehicle check with a valid driver’s license.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent. Significant Customer service-based experiences will be considered in lieu of.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate kettle sites and schedules using Register to Ring to coordinate kettle sites, scheduling such as daily routes, entering kettle totals daily, payroll for paid bell ringers and thanking volunteer groups.
• Assist with the transportation of kettles and bell ringers to assigned locations.
• Assist in fielding phone calls/inquiries pertaining to kettle operations from bell ringers, kettle sites, kettle drivers and others.
• In association with corps officers, ensure that any kettle issues are addressed.
• Help with the sorting of kettle funds and delivery to the bank when needed.
• Maintain positive work atmosphere through appropriate conflict management, courteous demeanor, and professional and appropriate communication practices.
• Maintain compliance in The Salvation Army’s “Safe from Harm” Certification.
• Perform other related and special duties as needed and assigned by supervisor.
