Job summary

FS GRAIN is seeking a Scale Operator to support grain operations at our Northern Illinois elevator. Under the direction of the Scale Coordinator, you will manage inbound/outbound tickets, record weights and grades, handle ticket adjustments, and coordinate with settlement and operations staff.

The role includes basic customer service, filing, and reporting tasks to keep the scale area orderly and efficient.

Qualifications

• Proven computer skills and a track record of working effectively with customers are required.
• Prefer knowledge of cooperative philosophies and principles.

Responsibilities

• Operate all aspects of the scale, including inbound/outbound/transfer, weights and grades, and proper account selection for customers.
• Manage scale tickets, invoicing, and communication to settlement and operations staff.
• Provide basic customer service, answer phones when needed, and share elevator ticket information.
• Learn and utilize the Scale System to generate reports and manage ticket processes from start to finish.
• Assist with filing, reporting, and tidiness of the scale operation area.
• Maintain professional appearance and deliver courteous customer service.
