Job summary

FS GRAIN is seeking a Scale Operator to manage scale operations at our Northern Illinois elevator. You will accurately process inbound, outbound and transfer tickets, manage weights and grades, and coordinate with settlement and operations staff to ensure timely information flow.

Responsibilities include invoicing on tickets, customer service tasks, and assisting with filing and reporting. The role requires dependable work habits, basic computer skills, and a willingness to learn our Scale

Qualifications

• Proven computer skills and ability to work effectively with customers.
• Prefer knowledge of cooperative philosophies and principles.

Responsibilities

• Operate all aspects of the scale, including inbound/outbound/transfer, weights and grades, and hauler accounts.
• Process customer/cash load out tickets, including invoicing.
• Communicate with settlement, origination and operations staff about ticket data and weights.
• Provide basic customer service, answer phones when needed, and relay elevator hours and ticket info.
• Learn and use the Scale System to generate reports and manage tickets from start to finish.
• Assist with filing, reporting, and maintaining a tidy scale operation area.
