Jackson Hewitt - HQR is seeking a Seasonal Assistant District Manager to lead multi-unit retail tax locations, overseeing district operations, recruitment, and client service. You will drive revenue, manage teams, and collaborate with an District Manager to ensure profitability across approximately twenty stores and kiosks.

The role starts October 5, 2026 and runs through April 24, 2027, offering earned wage access, performance bonuses, and opportunities for advancement in a fast-paced retail

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent related business experience.
• 2 years previous management or supervisory experience.
• Entrepreneurial spirit that inspires out of the box thinking to impact business results.
• Tax knowledge preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and client service skills.
• Must possess reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Proficiency with computer software including Word and Excel; Dayforce or HRIS experience preferred.
• Knowledge in accounting or tax preparation software preferred.
• Ability to sustain energy and be available during peak season including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for multi-unit retail locations in the assigned district and collaborate with the District Manager to maximize efficiency, revenue, and profitability.
• Leads recruiting efforts and the interviewing process of seasonal employees; drives tax education and team transitions.
• Monitors employee performance and partners with HR on training, development, and employee relations.
• Ensures locations meet company standards including office setup, technology, supplies, and facilities maintenance.
• Builds the business by retaining clients, attracting new clients, and increasing brand awareness.
• Resolves client questions or complaints regarding policies and procedures.
• Provides employees with guidance in handling problems and escalated issues.
• Monitors financial performance and district goals including revenue, cash control, and tax return counts.
