Job summary

The Michaels Companies in Mattoon, IL is seeking a Part-time Seasonal Service Team Member to help customers, operate the checkout, and keep the store well‑stocked and organized. You will unload trucks, stock shelves, and participate in planograms while delivering a friendly shopping experience.

Responsibilities include assisting customers, processing transactions accurately, promoting rewards programs, and supporting omni‑channel processes like BOPIS/SFS.

Qualifications

• Retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Must be at least sixteen (16) years old.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform light to heavy merchandise tasks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver friendly customer service and help shoppers locate items.
• Provide a fast, friendly checkout with cash handling to standards.
• Promote Rewards and Private Label Credit Card enrollments.
• Inform customers about the VOC survey and omni‑channel options (BOPIS/SFS).
• Assist with truck unloading, stocking, and floor set (POGs).
• Maintain in‑stock conditions and complete recovery and returns.
• Support shrink and safety programs; follow SOPs and company policies.
• Cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production; perform other duties as assigned.
