Job summary

Michaels Stores in Chicago, IL is hiring for a team member to assist customers, stock shelves, and handle checkout with friendly service. You’ll help customers find products, enroll shoppers in Rewards and Private Label Credit Cards, and support omni-channel processes like BOPIS and SFS.

The role emphasizes routine stock, merchandise recovery, and adherence to SOPs, with weekend and evening shifts commonly required. Prior retail experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Retail and/or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to perform checkout, cash handling, and store recovery tasks.

Responsibilities

• Help customers shop, locate products, and provide solutions.
• Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience; execute cash handling to standards.
• Engage customers on the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and enroll them.
• Educate customers on the Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
• Assist with Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
• Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
• Complete merchandise recovery and stock maintenance, including returns/go backs.
• Perform Store In Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
• Support shrink and safety programs.
• Adhere to SOPs and Company policies; maintain compliant operations.
