Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. is seeking an associate to provide friendly service, process transactions, support order pickup, and mentor new staff on the register. You will resolve returns, uphold security, and promote Nordstrom Loyalty while adapting to evenings and weekends in a fast-paced retail environment.

Strong relationship-building, tech-savvy with Windows/iOS/Android, and the ability to train others on POS are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Strong ability to build relationships with customers, peers, and leaders.
• Proficiency with POS/register systems and basic tech.
• Clear, effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to train and deliver POS/register training to onboard new hires.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong ownership, accountability, and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Deliver seamless, friendly service by understanding customer needs and owning interactions from start to finish, whether resolving returns and exchanges, or supporting order and pickup inquiries.
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer concerns with empathy, sound judgment, and a solutions-focused approach.
• Accurately process transactions and ticketing using POS and store systems to support inventory accuracy.
• Build relationships with teammates and contribute to a positive, team-focused environment.
• Protect the security and privacy of customer information through education, compliance and resolution of issues.
• Promote initiatives such as the Nordstrom Loyalty program, along with new tools, software, and services that enhance the customer and employee experience.
