Job summary

Sur La Table in-store is seeking a Seasonal Chef Instructor to lead savory, pastry, and baking classes, inspiring customers and driving sales of cookware and kitchen tools. You will present expert instruction, share culinary techniques, and represent the brand with enthusiasm.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of kitchen operations experience, a culinary arts background, and passion for teaching. This role is seasonal/part-time with flexible hours and strong customer interaction.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Culinary arts degree preferred; extensive culinary experience may substitute.
• Proficiency in savory cooking and pastry/baking.
• 1–2 years of kitchen operations experience.
• Valid Food Manager Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand through in-store culinary experiences.
• Deliver savory, pastry, and baking classes with high standards.
• Communicate cooking concepts clearly and encouragingly.
• Stay current on products and participate in training.
• Drive class revenue and customer engagement.
• Assist with class setup, cleanup, and mise en place.
• Maintain safety and sanitation in the kitchen.
