Job summary

The City of Omaha is seeking an Automotive Equipment Operator I for Park Maintenance. This part-time/seasonal role involves safely operating light trucks, tractors, and related equipment, with some manual labor, under supervision.

Qualifications

• Education/experience may be combined as suited, with high school diploma preferred and 1 year of related equipment operation experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and minor repairs for assigned equipment.
• Knowledge of traffic laws governing equipment operation.
• Ability to follow safety policies and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate various single-axle trucks and related equipment.
• Inspect fluid levels and perform basic preventive maintenance.
• Complete and submit reports of work performed.
• Assist in snow removal, de-icing, and related tasks as required.
• Maintain regular attendance per supervisor schedule.
• Perform duties to support Park Maintenance, Forestry, and Impound Lot divisions as assigned.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
