The City of Omaha is seeking a part-time grounds maintenance worker to perform lawn care, cleaning, and general park maintenance in Omaha, Nebraska.

This role requires physical work, ability to follow instructions, and adherence to safety policies. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and high school diploma preferred.

Applicants will support mowing, weed control, snow removal, and minor repairs, with opportunities to contribute to public spaces across the city.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or its equivalent preferred.
• Ability to understand oral or written instructions.
• Ability to adhere to safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and members of the general public.
• Balance, stand, walk, and lift for up to eight hours or more; reach, bend, stoop, and push for up to six hours.

Responsabilités

• Mows grass and pulls or sprays weeds.
• Sweeps and picks up refuse and debris from the streets, parks, and other public property.
• Shovels snow and spreads salt and gravel.
• Prepares flower beds by digging, raking, grinding and sifting soil, mulching leaves, and watering.
• Installs or repairs fences and performs minor maintenance, such as painting park equipment and facilities.
• Assists with maintenance and operation of equipment and wastewater treatment components.
• Maintains inventories of cleaning and maintenance supplies
• Monitors greenhouse thermostats
• Maintains regular job attendance according to schedule
• Performs other related duties as assigned
