Job summary

City of Omaha is seeking a part-time/seasonal grounds maintenance worker to maintain public park grounds and facilities, abandoned private properties, and city rights of way.

You will operate tractors and trucks, mow, water, apply chemicals, lay sod, prune trees, and perform routine equipment maintenance; a valid driver's license and being at least 18 are required, with background checks as described.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience in grounds maintenance and equipment operation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mows, trims, landscapes, and cleans public park grounds and city rights of way.
• Operates tractors, trucks, and other grounds maintenance equipment.
• Waters grounds and repairs sprinkler heads as needed.
• Applies chemicals and fertilizers; lays sod and prunes trees.
• Performs routine equipment maintenance and may supervise a small crew.
