Job summary

The City of Omaha is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Worker for park maintenance on a part‑time/seasonal basis. Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, landscaping, and caring for city grounds and facilities, with operation of tractors and maintenance vehicles.

Heavy lifting and physical effort are involved. Requirements include knowledge of grounds maintenance equipment, safety practices, and ability to follow instructions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Mows, trims, landscapes, and cleans park grounds and rights of way.
• Waters grounds and repairs sprinkler heads as needed.
• Applies chemicals and spreads fertilizer.
• Lays sod and prunes trees.
• Mows and removes debris, repairs park equipment.
• Operates tractors, trucks, and maintenance vehicles under 26,000 lb GVW.
• May supervise a small crew of seasonal workers.
