Job summary

Hy-Vee Seafood Service/Meat Manager Assistant in Savage, MN is responsible for supporting the Seafood Department with the freshest products, pricing, display and inventory while delivering friendly customer service.

This non-exempt role requires night and weekend shifts, teamwork, and training new staff. You’ll report to the Department Manager and collaborate with store leadership to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent education and food safety.
• Over one year up to three years of similar or related work experience.
• Ability to supervise others and maintain department standards.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service and treats customers as the most important people in the store.
• Assists department manager in pricing, display, merchandising and scheduling.
• Prepares product for display and ensures freshness and proper storage.
• Trains new employees and supervises clerks during shifts.
• Maintains sanitation, safety procedures and department standards.
• Monitors inventory, assists with ordering and control of shrink.
