Qualifications

• 5-8 years of related experience
• 2-3 years exp. in meat cutting, food preparation, and equipment required
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Knowledge of department product, food preparation, and equipment required
• Licenses/Certifications: Food Safety and Sanitation Certification preferred
• Lift 20 lbs or more on an occasional basis

Responsibilities

• Inspects, wraps, rotates, cuts, tests, and orders meat for retail customers.
• Assists Manager with organization and delegation of duties, including scheduling.
• Cuts meat for full and self-service cases.
• Organizes and delegates the day-to-day operation of the meat market.
• Places and receives meat orders, includes inventory control.
• Monitors work conditions for safety and sanitation.
• Cleans, sanitizes, and organizes the meat cooler, the cutting room, and the wrap station.
• Performs cutting tests on the profitability of retail meat cuts.
• Provides internal customer service. Supervises up to 10 employees in the Market Department.
