Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Seafood Department Lead to oversee the seafood department, ensuring safe, high-quality products and exceptional customer service. You will lead associates, manage performance, and implement business plans to meet sales and profit goals.

Responsibilities include staff development, scheduling, compliance with safety and labeling regulations, and collaboration with store management to optimize operations.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates by communicating information.
• Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve goals.
• Establish performance goals for department and empower associates to meet targets.
• Develop scheduling to manage customer volume during hours of operation.
• Train and develop associates and participate in performance appraisals.
• Adhere to all laws and company guidelines.
• Create a welcoming environment with product knowledge and samples where appropriate.
• Cut seafood to customers’ requests using proper equipment and provide fresh/frozen products as ordered.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Partner with store management to implement a department business plan.
• Educate associates about current and upcoming promotions.
• Prepare seasonal critiques for sales and merchandising supervision.
• Monitor and control department expenses.
• Assist in budget, profit and loss reviews, and financial reporting.
• Schedule routine price changes and update shelf tags/promotions.
• Maintain compliance with labeling and regulations.
• Plan and supervise the inventory process.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs and monitor temperatures; notify management of issues.
• Inspect and maintain equipment; report needs for repair.
• Notify management of accidents and safety risks.
• Report safety risks or illegal activity.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflicts calmly.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Support interactions with minors and vulnerable customers.
