Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking an engaged Meat/Seafood Department lead to create an outstanding customer experience and maintain a safe, clean environment. You will direct and supervise all department duties, support day-to-day Meat/Seafood operations, and promote the company’s core values of respect, integrity, and safety.

Qualifications

• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Current food handlers permit once employed.
• Possess adequate knife handling skills and knife speed.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Communicate department information to associates.
• Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to achieve store goals.
• Establish performance goals for department and empower associates to meet or exceed targets.
• Develop scheduling to manage customer volume through hours of operation.
• Train and develop associates on performance and participate in performance appraisals.
• Adhere to all laws and company guidelines.
• Cut seafood to customers' requests using proper cutting equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
