The Kroger Co. is seeking a Seafood Department Leader to drive outstanding customer experiences and ensure a safe, clean environment.

You will direct, support, and supervise all department activities to meet sales and profit goals while upholding quality assurance standards and Kroger's core values of respect and integrity. In this role you will train associates, manage scheduling, implement business plans, monitor promotions, and ensure compliance with all laws.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Effective communication skills.
• Minimum: Knowledge of basic math.
• Minimum: Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Minimum: Current food handlers permit once employed.
• Minimum: Possess adequate knife handling skills and knife speed.
• Desired: High school diploma or equivalent.

• Desired: Knowledge of cutting, traying, wrapping, and labeling.

• Desired: Retail experience.
• Desired: Second language: speaking, reading and/or writing.

Responsabilités

• Promote trust and respect among associates by communicating information.

• Establish performance goals for department and empower associates.
• Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume during hours of operation.
• Train and develop associates on performance and participate in appraisals.
• Adhere to all laws and company guidelines.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and informed about products; offer samples and inform about specials.
• Cut seafood to customers' requests using proper equipment and provide requested products.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Partner with store management to implement a department business plan.
• Inform and educate associates about promotions.
• Prepare seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
• Monitor and control department expenses.
• Assist management in preparing the store/department budget and review financial reports.
• Schedule routine price changes by updating shelf tags and signs.
• Maintain compliance with labeling regulations and temperature logs.
• Plan, organize and supervise inventory processes.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify responsible personnel of repairs.
• Notify management of accidents and report safety risks or illegal activity.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict in a professional, cooperative manner.
• Operate with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
