Job summary

Leidos invites motivated technology students to join the Summer 2027 Internship Program as a Network Engineering & Operations Intern at Scott AFB, IL. You will work with DISA on the DISN, gaining hands-on experience in a live, mission-critical network environment.

You’ll shadow senior engineers, learn Change Management, and analyze network data. This on-site internship requires U.S. citizenship with eligibility for DoD Secret clearance and a relevant degree pursuit.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
• Currently pursuing a degree in a relevant field such as Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
• Foundational understanding of basic networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and the OSI model.
• Strong desire to learn, keen attention to detail, and proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Shadow and assist senior engineers with customer coordination, network testing, and new service activations.
• Learn how Service Orders and Telecommunication Service Orders (TSOs) are managed through Change Management.
• Analyze network databases and documentation to validate customer requirements.
• Monitor network health and performance after scheduled changes are implemented.
• Collaborate with a team of engineers and analysts to translate technical problems into actionable solutions.
• Understand how different DISA organizations work together to fulfill mission partner requirements.
