Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Network Operations Intern to contribute to incident management, monitoring, and documentation for the DoD network from Scott AFB, IL. You will work with ServiceNow ITSM+, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office while coordinating with customers and vendors.

U.S. citizenship and on-site presence are required, with sponsorship for a security clearance and ongoing student status through Fall 2027.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a degree granting program in a relevant discipline (excludes Cyber Security).
• Familiarization with Microsoft Office, OSI Model, ServiceNow, and SharePoint.
• Ability to communicate with customers, vendors, and contract personnel via phone, email, instant messaging, and in person.
• Experience with technical writing and a working knowledge of networking concepts and topologies.
• Must obtain a Secret or Top Secret clearance; Secret required to start (sponsorship available).
• US Citizen required. Scott AFB IL on-site only.
• CompTIA Security+ certification (or IAT Level II) required for future periods and/or full-time upon graduation.
• Active student status through Fall 2027 and graduation no earlier than Dec 2027.

Responsibilities

• Performing incident management support for the DoD global network
• Creating, updating, and resolving incident tickets in Service Now ITSM+
• Monitoring internet access points for events impacting global connectivity
• Providing real-time network monitoring using various tools
• Developing documentation and metric collections for contract delivery
• Providing situational updates to leadership and customers for network events
• Supporting customers during all phases of Network Management
• Verifying service restoration upon resolution of tickets
• Tracking and monitoring incident tickets escalated to specialized teams and engineers
