Job summary

Leidos is offering a Summer 2027 Internship Program for a Cybersecurity Analyst Intern at Scott AFB, IL. You will work on real-world DoD security operations and be embedded with SOC analysts protecting DISN under the GSM-O II contract.

You will gain hands-on experience with enterprise security tools, threat‑intel analysis, and incident response strategies, contributing to threat detection and defense of critical systems.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.
• Strong fundamentals in networking and security concepts; familiar with DoD-style environments.

Responsibilities

• Triage and analyze security alerts from SIEM/IDS/NetFlow to identify malicious activity.
• Assist with network traffic analysis and correlate security events from raw data.
• Shadow incident response activities, coordinating containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
• Review threat intelligence feeds to identify Indicators of Compromise (IOCs).
• Conduct preliminary analysis of potential incidents by reviewing logs and connections.
• Create concise technical documentation and incident reports for leadership.
