Job summary

Florida State University’s NHMFL Computer Support Group seeks an IT Support Specialist to provide specialized, scientific IT assistance to faculty and staff. You will install and maintain Windows and MacOS systems, manage imaging and endpoint configurations, and support Microsoft 365, Azure, and directory services.

Strong customer service and cybersecurity basics are essential. Responsibilities include after-hours on-site support and advising on hardware purchases while coordinating with NHMFL

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience.
• Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to four years.

Responsibilities

• This position provides specialized, scientific IT support to faculty and staff of the NHMFL.
• Set up and install various makes and models of networked servers, workstations, desktops, and laptop computers running different versions of Microsoft Windows and MacOS.
• Create and administer user accounts for Microsoft Windows Active Directory and 0365 email services. Provide end user instruction in the use of various computer, tablet and mobile device operating systems and software applications, audio-visual equipment, and video-conferencing systems.
• Provide after-hours onsite support for mission-critical Microsoft Windows and Mac operations as needed.
