Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Hold a valid teaching credential in the subject or be eligible for a permit (General Education Limited Assignment Permit, Provisional Internship Permit, or Short Term Staff Permit).
  • Experience teaching students with demographics similar to the KIPP Northern California community (preferred).
  • Commitment to anti-racist, culturally responsive teaching.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement daily and long-term lesson plans aligned with KIPP’s academic vision.
  • Analyze student data regularly to inform instruction and support student growth.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom grounded in Restorative Practices and SEL.
  • Use culturally responsive classroom management to ensure safety, belonging, and high expectations.
  • Communicate proactively with families, colleagues, and leaders to build partnerships.
  • Engage in weekly professional development and Communities of Practice.
  • Maintain accurate records including attendance, grades, and behavior data.
