Job summary

Datavant seeks a Head of Science Operations to partner with the Chief Science Officer and lead the Science Leadership Team. You will translate priorities into actionable plans, align cross-functional teams, and manage budget, timelines, and performance across science initiatives.

You will drive strategy, governance, and execution that shapes product science support, services delivery, and client outcomes for Datavant’s Life Sciences business.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of industry experience in life sciences, healthcare, or a related field.
• Experience in roles requiring scientific judgment, strategic problem-solving, and leadership of complex initiatives across scientific, technical, commercial, and operations functions.

Responsibilities

• Science Team strategy and priority setting
• Partner with the CSO and Science Leadership Team to define annual and quarterly priorities
• Translate strategic priorities into clear plans, milestones, ownership, and measures of success
• Leadership Team effectiveness and active contribution to the Science Leadership Team
• Manage operations: agendas, decisions, action tracking, and follow-through
• Propose services delivery resourcing for Leadership Team confirmation
• Raise cross-functional risks, dependencies, and decisions requiring leadership attention
• Ensure decisions and priorities are communicated across the Science organization
• Develop an integrated view of services delivery, product science support, and client outcomes
• Coordinate Science input for commercial strategy and product roadmap prioritization
• Identify group-level performance risks and options with Science leaders
• Coordinate with Finance and Commercial on pipeline forecasts; lead capacity model
• Track time, studies, and publications; lead change initiatives
• Support Science Team budget management and meetings logistics
• Prepare presentations for the CSO and represent the CSO in internal meetings
