Job summary

Calvert County Public Schools seeks a Building-Based Restorative Practices Facilitator to support MTSS implementation and restorative approaches in all schools in Prince Frederick, MD. The role focuses on improving belonging, academic mindset, and school climate through targeted training and action planning.

The facilitator will work with teachers, staff, and the district team, delivering professional development and sustaining restorative practices across the school community.

Qualifications

• Must have completed two-day Restorative Practices Training.
• Deep understanding of restorative approaches and the importance of relationships between staff and students.
• Understanding of social-emotional learning and positive learning environments.
• Interest in using restorative approaches to impact learning environments and classroom climate.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with staff and students.
• Ability to work well within a school-based team.
• Willingness to lead and implement quarterly after-school trainings.

Responsibilities

• Assist building leadership with creating and implementing the school’s Restorative Practices Action Plan.
• Participate in beginning-of-year training and quarterly facilitator meetings.
• Develop a plan to train existing and new staff in restorative practices.
• Maintain records of trained staff through the Professional Learning Platform.
• Collaborate with administrative and mental health teams to engage students in restorative conversations and repair harm.
• Provide consultation to teachers on implementing restorative approaches.
• Conduct brief professional development to build restorative skills as directed.
• Maintain communication with Department of Student Services restorative practices leaders.
• Submit evidence of implementation activities to the Department of Student Services.
