Job summary

Mid-Michigan Area Public Schools Consortium is seeking a school-based counselor/behavior support specialist to implement restorative practices and support culture plans within urban, low-income contexts. The role collaborates with staff, students, and families to promote positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Education, counseling, social work, psychology, or criminal justice with extensive work with school-aged students in low-income urban areas.
• Excellent social and teamwork abilities.
• High credibility with staff, parents, and students.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with behavior interventionist on restorative practices.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment aligned with culture plan.
• Provide a safe, reflective space for students to realign with handbook.
• Support teachers and staff in implementing culture plan.
• Work with the Student Success Team (SST).
• Assist in data collection related to culture and behavior.
• Build relationships with students, staff, and parents to boost engagement.
• Participate in professional development.
