Job summary

Milledgeville YDC in Milledgeville, GA seeks a School Resource Officer (SRO) to maintain security and order within a detention facility’s educational setting.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and GAPOST certification in good standing; PBLE number must be included in the application. The officer will work daytime shifts and engage with students, staff, and parents as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• GAPOST certified peace officer in good standing with PBLE number attached.

Responsibilities

• Maintain security and order in a detention facility educational setting.
• Provide security clearance for students entering secure areas.
• Conduct classroom, hallway, and office walkthroughs.
• Address disruptive or improperly dressed students and enforce rules.
• Facilitate safety drills and monitor security cameras and equipment.
• Coordinate with education and probation staff for student success meetings.
