Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and successful completion of Basic Mandate Law Enforcement Training.
• Completion of an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Sociology or related field.
• One year or more of experience as a School Resource Officer.
• Three years of experience as a Peace Officer with current POST certification.
• Two or more years supervisory experience in police or investigative work.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, kneeling, bending and crawling.

Responsibilities

• Maintain security and order in a detention facility educational setting as directed.
• Provide security clearance for each student entering secure areas.
• Conduct classroom, hallway, and office security walkthroughs.
• Address disruptive or poorly dressed students and monitor attendance.
• Facilitate safety drills and coordinate with staff and probation.
• Assist in planning weekly student meetings and monthly parent meetings.
