Job summary

The State of Georgia's Department of Juvenile Justice seeks a School Resource Officer for the Metro RYDC in Atlanta to maintain security and order within a detention facility educational setting, under supervision and adhering to established procedures.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED and GAPOST Basic Mandate Training with a valid PBLE number; preference for POST-certified officers and prior SRO/peace officer experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and GAPOST Basic Mandate Training.
• Current GAPOST profile with PBLE number attached.

Responsibilities

• Perform law enforcement duties to maintain security in a detention facility educational setting.
• Provide security clearance for students entering secure areas.
• Conduct classroom and hallway walkthroughs and address disruptive behavior.
• Facilitate safety drills and monitor CCTV and security equipment.
