Job summary

Floyd County Schools Prestonsburg High School in Prestonsburg, Kentucky is seeking a dedicated Cook/Baker to prepare, cook and bake a variety of foods for daily meals and special events.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, experience in food service preferred, and the ability to maintain clean, sanitary kitchens while following district guidelines and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in food service preferred.
• Ability to prepare, cook, bake and serve food in quantity.

Responsibilities

• Prepares a wide variety of baked goods and other food dishes.
• Determines appropriate quantity of food items for cooking and baking; adjusts recipes as needed; maintains quality standards.
• Monitors temperatures of food to assure safety and quality standards.
• Serves food according to guidelines; replenishes serving containers for lunch items.
• Cleans cafeteria equipment, utensils and appliances; stores food supplies; follows sanitation procedures.
• Stores unused food and supplies; disposes of leftovers; handles food storage properly.
• Operates kitchen equipment including slicer, mixer, oven, fryer, dishwasher, cash register, etc.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
